The Department of Computer Science within the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering has been at the leading edge of Computer Science in the UK for six decades.
The Centre for Human Computer Interaction Design (HCID) is based in the Department of Computer Science. And was originally established 25 years ago. HCID has a reputation as one of the largest and most successful HCI research groups in the UK. We also pride ourselves in delivering specialist Masters Courses and running a profitable consultancy service through the Interaction Lab.
This is an exciting opportunity to join existing academic staff in undertaking world-class research and to help shape the future direction of HCID
We invite applications for a Readership in the Centre.
The successful candidate will have an established track record of research excellence as demonstrated by existing research funding and world-class publications. The post is open to applicants in any area aligned to HCID's activities, particularly in designing systems for real-world use that are informed by engaging with a variety of stakeholders, centred around innovative applications for embedding smart technology in everyday environments, novel ways of communicating with the user, new ways for a diverse range of users to access and retrieve information, and advanced technologies for healthcare.
