City seeks to recruit a Digital Repository Librarian to promote and develop our institution repository services to the Schools and departments serviced by City Library Services in support of the learning, teaching and research objectives of the university.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and development of City Research Online, our institution repository, to deliver high quality services and support.
They will develop strong links with the Research and Enterprise Office and Schools across the University in order to encourage and monitor research submissions, in particular towards REF 2021, together with providing support and guidance.
The successful candidate will have a CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information management OR equivalent experience in a library role. They will have knowledge of copyright law and an extensive understanding of the scholarly communication landscape and open access, with experience of managing an institutional repository being desirable. They will have excellent information management and systems skills, together with excellent data analysis and report writing skills.
Staff Management experience is desirable as this post manages 2 Senior Information Assistants.
They will have excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to plan and undertake a range of tasks and manage their workload effectively. They will have excellent communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills, with customer service experience, that will enable positive interactions with library users, colleagues, academic staff, researchers and other stakeholders inside and outside the university.
