An opportunity has arisen for a Switchboard Operator to join the team. The role will involve assisting in the day to day operation of the University switchboard, currently an Ericsson MD110.
The successful candidate will be dealing with incoming calls promptly and professionally and connecting callers to the right departments. They will deal with queries relating to telecommunications or escalate them to the Telecoms Manager as necessary. They will also liaise with various Telecoms suppliers to log technical faults and relay telecoms information clearly on the phone. This role will require shift working: (earliest start 08.30, latest finish 17.30, Mon - Fri).
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills and some experience of working on a busy switchboard. They will have a friendly, confident telephone manner with a flexible approach to work. The successful candidate will be a team player, working with initiative and minimal supervision.
