We are recruiting for one Student/Course Administrator in the School of Arts and Social Sciences team. The post supports a portfolio of courses and the role will vary depending on the requirements of those courses. The key responsibilities may include dealing with a wide range of general enquiries from students, prospective students, members of the public and visitors to the School as well as providing general course support.


Reporting to a School’s Course Operations Manager and/or Senior Course Officer, this post holder is responsible for being the first contact for student enquiries advising on a wide range of course related matters as well as dealing with general enquires from prospective students. The post holder will work closely with the Quality Team supporting various Panels. The Student/Course Administrator will also provide routine support to all members of the office.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have developed excellent written, organisational, analytical and time-management skills. They will have exceptional written and oral communication skills, with experience of working with customers face-to-face and on the telephone with a 'customer-centred' approach, in particular, dealing with sensitive information. Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Word, e-mail and internet are essential. A good knowledge of SITS is also desirable.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in the HE sector and of student exchange programmes and/or work placements, although this is not essential.
