Library Services are provided to the City Law School’s students and staff at the University's Innovation Centre Library (at the main Northampton Square campus) and at Gray’s Inn Place.
City seeks to recruit a fixed term Subject Librarian (Law) to promote and develop services to the Schools and departments serviced by City Library Services in support of the learning, teaching and research objectives of City, University of London.
The successful candidate will liaise and develop contacts with designated Schools and Departments in relation to promoting and to gathering feedback on Library Services. They will participate with ongoing collection management and development including monitoring and evaluating health resources to support students and represent Library Services at relevant meetings.
The successful candidate will inform and assist in projects undertaken by Library Services. In addition, they will be involved with the induction of both staff and students and will contribute to developing, delivering and evaluating Digital and Information Literacy programmes for students and staff.
The successful candidate will support the transition and merging of two existing library sites into the new City Law School building at Sebastian Street.
The successful candidate will have a CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information management or equivalent experience in a library role. They will have knowledge of law resources, excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to plan and undertake a range of tasks and manage their workload effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and customer service experience will enable the role holder to interact with library users, colleagues, academic staff, researchers and other stakeholders inside and outside the university.
