The School of Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering is a multidisciplinary centre of research and education, located in the heart of London’s vibrant design community. It is proud of its record of valuable research advances and of educating thousands of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) undergraduates and postgraduates.
The Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering is home to over 400 undergraduate students studying on several MEng and BEng programmes; 100 postgraduate (MSc) students; and over 90 research students. Research takes place in three Research Centres: Systems and Control; Photonics and Instrumentation; and Biomedical Engineering. The Department has a long tradition of education excellence and continually improves the content of its programmes.
The School is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic as Professor of Robotics to engage in world-leading and internationally excellent research; and contribute to the delivery of its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Robotics, Digital Control, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics or Engineering Design.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Computer Science; an outstanding track record of world-leading or internationally excellent research; excellent knowledge of Robotics, Digital Control, or Embedded Systems Design; and extensive experience in education and programme management in Higher Education. Experience in academic leadership is highly desirable as is experience of working in or collaborating with relevant industry.
