Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD) offers expert services for staff and students with the aim of supporting teaching and learning and providing the best possible educational experience; championing innovation in teaching and learning.

The LEaD Support and Development team are now looking to recruit a part time (0.6FTE) Support Officer to coordinate administrative and communication activities.


The post holder will support the administration of the Post Graduate academic practice programme and MPhil/PhD in Professional Education and assist the team with the organisation of LEaD events and general admin support (including logistics and minute taking) and sending customer focused communications.

They will assist with creating and disseminating LEaD promotional materials and promoting activities via all communication channels to stakeholders. Together with the support team, they will develop, enhance and sustain effective internal LEaD communications.

Person Specification

The role holder will be educated to A ‘Level or equivalent with experience of working in an administrative role within Higher Education or similar. Experience of record management and events organising is required along with an awareness of general HE issues and trends, Widening Participation and a commitment to equal opportunities.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are necessary, in order to advise staff, communicate policy/procedural information and write clear reports and minutes.
Strong IT skills (including MS Office software) are essential together with the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload. Good organization skills are essential.
Commitment to excellent customer service and a creative approach to problem solving are required to resolve issues without clear or predefined solutions. A flexible, team approach and willingness to share and develop new ideas is also essential to success in this role.
